Why Only Women?
Women often face unique concerns and pressures — such as trauma, codependency, and motherhood— that can complicate other mental health conditions, including addiction. Women are also more likely than men to experience anxiety and other health conditions and more likely to use drugs in an attempt to self-treat their mental health problems. If you are a woman battling mental illness, you may find that you turn to substances to cope with body weight changes, pain and sleep issues. Our masters-level, female therapists understand the specific challenges women face during recovery. We create a harmonious therapeutic environment where women can safely explore the mental, emotional, psychological and spiritual dimensions of health.
Trauma Therapy
Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) is a cutting-edge approach to trauma therapy that helps reframe traumatic memories. This proven form of therapy enables people to heal from the emotional distress resulting from disturbing life experiences. Using EMDR therapy can help a patient disassociate the trauma from the event itself, giving her relief and improved control over her reactions to life stressors.
A Safe Space
With deep compassion, we help patients heal invisible wounds while they build their spiritual and emotional strength. Many of the guests of our women’s program share that they have not felt a true sense of safety in a very long time. At Origins Cousneling, we empower women to feel safe and free to recover in peace, without external pressures or distractions. We hope that each patient will reconnect with her authentic self and focus on personal fulfillment and sobriety.
